I remember my Mom and my mother-in-law buying plates several times a year from Franklin Mint. I also remember some pretty fancy collectible porcelain dolls at my Mom's house. My Dad collected cars and has over a dozen. One of my brothers has a couple of beautiful Harley Davidson collectible motorcycles. They match the Harley Davidson bike he bought years ago and is still in mint condition. He goes on several road trips every spring and summer with his bike. Of course he has all the motorcycle gear to go with it. He has three or four Harley Davidson motorcycle jackets as well as his motorcycle boots, gloves and other motorcycle accessories. I love to go for a ride on his bike with him whenever I visit. I am finding that as I get older, his bike seems to get faster. I think I'm not quite as courageous as I used to be. This brother of mine usually ends up with something collectible each Christmas and birthday. I suspect that his family buys the collectibles for him but want them for themselves.
